Almost There: Toledo On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-4 Win
|
The Toledo Stingers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Buffalo White Walkers on the road at Beyond the Wall by a score of 6-4. Stingers left-hander Craig Fitzgerald was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Stingers a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Snow Wang's at-bat in the top of the fourth inning was a big one for Toledo. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Toledo trailing 3-1, the shortstop hit a run-scoring single.
"We are one step closer to our ultimate goal of bringing a title back to the people of Toledo," Fitzgerald said after the game.
