Pivotal Game Goes to Host Stingers, 8-7
|
Buffalo first baseman Eddie Sachs pounded Toledo Stingers pitchers at Pacesetter Park, but it was not enough to keep the White Walkers from falling, 8-7 in Game of the Third League Championship. Sachs went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice and was named player of the game for his efforts, even as he saw the White Walkers slip into a - tie in the best-of- series.
In the bottom of the fourth, Toledo center fielder Matt Dunlap had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Dunlap stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-2, Toledo. For the game, he was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Dunlap.
