Almost There: Boston On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 5-2 Win
|
The Boston Patriots are one game away from a sweep of the Echo Park Lakers today after a 5-2 road win at LA Forum. Patriots right-hander Aldo Ottens was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Boston now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Jon Osterman, the 34-year old right fielder . Osterman contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
"We aren't quitting," Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."
