Pivotal Game Goes to Host Patriots, 5-4
|
Echo Park left fielder Philip Todd pounded Boston Patriots pitchers at Dunkin Donuts Park, but it was not enough to keep the Lakers from falling, 5-4 in Game of the Round 1. Todd went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 and was named player of the game for his efforts, even as he saw the Lakers slip to a - deficit in the best-of- series.
Boston took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, center fielder Roberto Castillo hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Castillo told the Boston Today.
