Guangorena, Portland Start Round 1 Strong with Home Win

The importance of Game was not lost on Kameron Guangorena.
In leading Portland to a crucial 11-0 victory over the Montana Pandas at Evergreen Park today, the Evergreens catcher rose to the occasion. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 to player of the game honors as Portland defended their home field and seized a - lead in the best-of- Round 1.
Guangorena's nice game included a clutch 2-run double in the bottom of the first.
"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Portland manager Brandon Slouck told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."
