Late Rally by Blimps Secures Win
|
The Akron Blimps did just enough to sneak past the Olympia Ogres, 6-5, at The Ogre Den. Akron catcher Salvador Berrocal earned player of the game honors. Reliever Fredrick Shive picked up the win. His record improves to 4-3. Zach Brown took the loss. Akron, at 49-48, sits in 5th place in the Premier AA.
Akron used the clutch hitting of Dave Hill to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Berrocal said.
