Screaming Eagles Get One-Run Win at Ft. Polk South
|
Getting an impressive start from Dawson Randolph, Mercer Island beat Ft. Polk South by the score of 3-2. Ming Zhai got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances. The 'W' lifts Mercer Island's record to 59-35.
Mercer Island used the timely hitting of Niek Breugelmans to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Breugelmans said after the game.
