The Springfield Shooters and Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks brought some excitement to Springfield Stadium.
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks dealt the Springfield Shooters a 8-0 loss at Springfield Stadium. Tim Carson was the star on offense. He went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win puts the Thunder Hawks at 57-36, while the Shooters drop to 61-32.
With Ft. Polk South leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Carson hit a 2-run home run off Springfield hurler Mario Fuentes. It was the 34th home run of the season for Carson and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We maximized our offense today," said Ft. Polk South skipper John Anderson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
