The Blimps had to overcome a fine performance from Nuevo Mexico pitcher Gerard Fyson to grab a 5-4 win at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Fyson allowed 4 earned runs over 7 innings. Akron reliever Hyeon-uk Sa was credited with the win, to go to 1-2. Nick Ramey took the loss for Nuevo Mexico. The Blimps raised their record to 45-45.

Had Numberto Pencíl not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Pencíl hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Blimps.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Nuevo Mexico manager Kenny Billings. "But we decided not to take it."
