The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Olympia Ogres, 5-3, with youngster Tim Carson playing a key role. Carson went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Thunder Hawks in the win. Ft. Polk South reliever Masaki Ito picked up the win to move to 7-1. Mitsuoki Gato suffered the loss. Sean Kennedy got credit for the save for Ft. Polk South. It was his 6th of the year.

Had Carson not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Carson hit a 2-run home run. The Thunder Hawks never looked back after taking the 5-3 lead.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Carson. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."

The second-place Thunder Hawks have won 6 in a row.
