Asbel Kiprop helped his team muscle past the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 9-4. In the game, the Mercer Island left fielder went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Fighting Imps, now 25-63, have lost 4 in a row.

The Fighting Imps had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Screaming Eagles going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Steve Lodge came to the plate. Lodge hit a run-scoring single on a 2-0 fastball from Ithaca hurler John Fleming. It was Lodge's 33rd hit of the year.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Lodge.
