Tight Tilt Goes to Shooters, 4-3
|
The Shooters grabbed a win, 4-3, at Old-Timers Park, overcoming a fine effort from Northville pitcher Edwin Meadows. Meadows went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Da'wan Gaines, credited with the save, is now 12 for 15 in save opportunities. Springfield leads the Premier AA by 5½ games.
Springfield used the bat of Adam Lee to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Shooters ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Enjoyed this one," Lee told the Springfield Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
