Ft. Polk South starter Patrick Amador pitched effectively against the Crescent City Krewe at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Amador, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks.
Juho Hovinen was vital part of the Ft. Polk South win. He went 1-2 with a triple and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth with one out, Hovinen hit a run-scoring triple. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Thunder Hawks.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Amador.
