Getting an impressive start from Mario Fuentes, Springfield beat Nuevo Mexico by the score of 4-1. Da'wan Gaines got the save, his 11th in 14 chances. Springfield leads the Premier AA by 5½ games.

Ken Jackson put Springfield in front, 3-0, when he took William Burkett downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the first. It was his 4th home run of the season.
