The Akron Blimps went home winners at Imps Park, thanks in large part to starter Leonardo Sánchez. Sánchez silenced the Ithaca Fighting Imps, enabling Akron to grab the 6-1 win. Michael Ramsey was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Fredrick Shive earned the save for Akron, his 2nd.

Sánchez came through with some timely hitting for Akron. With the score 2-0 in the top of the sixth and two down, Sánchez hit a full count changeup for a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season made it 4-0, Akron.
