Krewe Get One-Run Win at Olympia
|
The Crescent City Krewe had to overcome a big game from Olympia designated hitter Aniq bin Mu'ayyad to leave The Ogre Den with a 7-6 victory. bin Mu'ayyad was 3-4 with 3 singles. Wan-fu Quan was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 13 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Pat Martin finished the game for Crescent City and earned his 4th save.
Crescent City used the timely hitting of Juan David Fernán to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Krewe on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
When asked about his performance after the game, Fernán said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
The Krewe improve their record to 43-38 with the win over Olympia.
