The Goodyear Hanger Dome faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.

The Akron Blimps topped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Hun-hyeon Kang. Kang went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Blimps. The win was credited to Ramón Sánchez in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Mike Barraza took the loss.

Numberto Pencíl was the walk-off hero for Akron. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blimps right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Akron manager Noel Ballard.

After today's action, Akron sits at 38-40, while Mercer Island falls to 48-30.
