Screaming Eagles Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles knocked off the Akron Blimps, 8-5, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Miles Breeuwer, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Mercer Island won. The second baseman was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Mercer Island is now 48-29, while Akron is 37-40.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Breeuwer delivered big-time for Mercer Island, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Gypsyamber D'Souza. The game-changing hit put the Screaming Eagles on top, 8-5.
