Mariachis Fall to .500 After Loss to Thunder Hawks
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 10-8, with youngster Tim Carson playing a key role. Carson was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Thunder Hawks in the win. Mark Brunswick picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-0. Tomás Ramírez was tagged with the loss. The Mariachis, now 38-38, have lost 4 straight.

Ft. Polk South took a 10-5 lead on Carson's 26th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Edwin Perry in the top of the sixth, propelled Ft. Polk South to the win.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Carson. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
