It was a fun time at Field of the Krewe, where the Springfield Shooters and Crescent City Krewe tangled.

The Crescent City Krewe topped the Springfield Shooters, 6-2, in USPL Double A action at Field of the Krewe. The player of the game was Crescent City pitcher Taine Poutini. Poutini, now 6-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Paul Thomas closed the door for Crescent City, picking up his 1st save of the year.

The Krewe grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Jermaine Vassell hit a 2-run home run off Ed Callahan, putting Crescent City in front, 3-0. For Vassell, it was his 4th home run of the season.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Vassell.

Crescent City, at 41-34, occupies 4th place in the Premier AA.
