Mercer Island right fielder Asbel Kiprop was instrumental in his team's 7-1 win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Kiprop went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Screaming Eagles. Marcos Zambrano picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. António Morterero was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Mercer Island sits at 46-28, while Ft. Polk South falls to 44-30.

Early in the game, center fielder Matsuo Ino had a 2-run home run for Mercer Island. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Screaming Eagles on top, 3-1.
