Screaming Eagles Come Back Late to Top Ogres
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Olympia Ogres obliged those fans who came to Mercer Island Grounds looking for a good time.
The Olympia Ogres got a superb performance from pitcher Don Johnson, but the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles still won the game, 7-6. Johnson was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. At 43-27, the Screaming Eagles are currently second in the Premier AA.
Had Zee-loo Situ not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Situ hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Screaming Eagles.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Situ.
