Jackson has 3 hit night, Shooters Move to 45-23
|
The first-place Springfield Shooters welcomed Westwood to Springfield Stadium.
Ken Jackson was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Westwood Sixshooters. The right fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Springfield Shooters. Springfield starter Ron Jordan was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-3.
Jackson came through with some timely hitting for Springfield. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth and two down, Jackson hit a 1-2 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 5-1, Springfield.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Jackson said.
The Shooters own a robust 45-23 mark.
