The Akron Blimps defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-2, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Akron right fielder Numberto Pencíl was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. The win was Henry Terry's in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Scott Richardson took the loss for Ft. Polk South. Gypsyamber D'Souza was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 14 save opportunities.

Pencíl had a key at-bat for Akron early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 10th double of the season and gave Akron an early 1-0 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Pencíl told the Akron Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Today's win puts Akron at 35-33, while Ft. Polk South falls to 39-29.
