The Shockers grabbed a win, 8-0, at Field of the Sunchasers, overcoming a fine effort from Ballard pitcher Yoshifumi Oshima. Oshima went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Ángel López got the win, improving to 3-5. He held the Beavers to no earned runs on no hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The 8th-place Shockers lifted their record to 39-38.

Al Miller put Surprise in front, 8-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Norberto Cabrera in the top of the ninth. It was his 2nd home run of the season.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Miller.
