Octopi Reel Off Another Win
|
Ogallala turned a good effort from starter Juro Kobayashi into a win over the Ballard Beavers at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score was 1-0. Juan Hernández, credited with the save, is now 4 for 4 in save opportunities. The Octopi, now 34-28, have won 6 in a row.
The Beavers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Octopi going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old center fielder Jamie Padgett came to the plate. Padgett hit a run-scoring single on a 2-1 fastball from Ballard hurler Gastăo Fontana. It was Padgett's 63rd hit of the year.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Ogallala manager Luis Muńóz said.
