Baby Lakers Win at Northwest Territory, 5-3
|
Bompton left-hander Ryan Riley made an effective start against the Northwest Territory Beavers at Beaver Town, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Bompton bumps their record to 27-30 with the win.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Baby Lakers sent teenager Okakura Samurakami to the plate against Beavers hurler Volmer Aalbers. With a runner on 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 0-2 slider to score 1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Samurakami said after the game.
