Trash Pandas Come Up Short at Greenport
|
The rain at Ballpark of Robbins did not keep Greenport and Watford City from finishing their game.
Greenport used a superb performance from starting pitcher Mochihito Sato to down the Watford City Trash Pandas, 2-1. In 7.1 innings, Sato surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Raúl Ferrer finished to wrap up his 11th save.
Albert Hanson, who is tied for 4th in the 3R in doubles with 13, helped out the Greenport cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Sato.
Today's win puts Greenport at 19-25, while Watford City falls to 20-24.
