In a high-scoring contest between Ballard and Surprise, third baseman Kevin Neal was a difference-maker. Neal, who is tied for 4th in the 3R in home runs with 5, earned player of the game honors in the 13-9 Ballard win. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Tom Simon picked up the win. His record improves to 5-1. Josh Rainey took the loss. Gastão Fontana closed the door for Ballard, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Bill Bass broke a 8-8 tie in the top of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Beavers in front, 9-8. For the game, Bass drove in one run.

"We came out aggressive," said Beavers manager Raymond Thomas. "We came out swinging the bats."
