Beavers Need Extras to Top Beavers
|
In a tight battle between the Ballard Beavers and the Northwest Territory Beavers, pitcher Kjeld Burger was in the zone. The Ballard right-hander was named the player of the game in Ballard's 2-1 win. Ballard occupies 5th place in the Menard's R at 21-19.
Ballard relied on the bat of Tonito Gomez to get the win. The right fielder produced a 2-run home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Gomez had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Northwest Territory manager Tom Carlson. "Obviously."
