The Amarillo Warheads got a strong performance from pitcher Manuel Villalobos, who stymied the Bethlehem offense en route to a 4-2 win at Kittie Park. Villalobos got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Villalobos allowed 1 earned run. Rey Counsell converted his 6th save in 8 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Amarillo, had it not been for Paul Hall, the 20-year old third baseman . Hall contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Amarillo up, 2-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Villalobos said after the game.
The Warheads saw their record improve to 52-42.
