Shockers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Bompton, 1-0

The Bompton Baby Lakers got a superb performance from pitcher Felipe López. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Surprise. The Shockers won the game, 1-0. In spite of the loss, López was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Jonathan Vega earned his 2nd save in 2 tries. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Surprise.
Surprise used the clutch hitting of Cory Blatchford to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Shockers the lead, 1-0. For the game, Blatchford had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Surprise skipper Sake van Arem.
