Rodríguez Helps Snowpeople Run Win Streak to 4
|
Ellesmere Island beat Amarillo at Ballpark of Henderson, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Ramón Rodríguez, who earned player of the game honors. Dennis Heath got the win, improving to 4-9. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Snowpeople.
Ron Jackson, who leads the SR in triples with 10, helped out the Ellesmere Island cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the second baseman was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"The vibe's good," said Ellesmere Island manager Rich Hunter. "We've got to keep it going."
