Patriots Lose to Browns, 6-4
|
Boston designated hitter Jae-woo Ohm had a good game, even if his team did not. The Patriots dropped a 6-4 decision to Cleveland at Dunkin Donuts Park. Ohm was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jay Cannon was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Damien Morin closed it out for his 2nd save.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Alexei Ponikarov to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Browns on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ponikarov told reporters after the game.
Losses have been few and far between for the Patriots, who are now 11-4.
