Tight Tilt Goes to Baby Lakers, 2-1
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers picked up a win at Shockers Field, knocking off the Surprise Shockers, 2-1. Starting pitcher George Crane was an essential part of his team's success. Duane Coleman, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Baby Lakers, now 4-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
Bompton used the clutch hitting of Tim Rowland to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Baby Lakers the lead, 2-0. For the game, Rowland had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Rowland told the Bompton Today.
