Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Igloo.
The Capital Hill Interns scored a 1-0 win versus the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at The Igloo. Capital Hill pitcher Vladsislas Meierhold nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Tony Nelson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Meierhold, who was born in Penza, Russia, threw 110 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"We've got a great group of guys," Meierhold said, "and we're having fun right now."
Capital Hill improves to 47-28 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.
