The Valley View Cougars and Montgomery Biscuits played an exciting game at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium.
Benefiting from Jay Harris's productive game, the Valley View Cougars downed the Montgomery Biscuits, 4-2. Harris was 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Cougars. Mike Wheeler, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held Montgomery to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Juan González notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Valley View took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Pepe Melandri hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Valley View in front, 3-2.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Montgomery skipper António Pineda, "and it cost us."
Montgomery has now lost 4 consecutive games.
