Valley View got a terrific performance from pitcher Don Lucas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Flint Crush. Flint won the Flint Park contest, 3-2. Lucas was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Earning his 15th save for Flint was Augusto Jaramillo. The Crush, now 42-29, have won 6 in a row.

Had Barnes Libbinga not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Libbinga hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Crush.

"This was a good win for us," said Libbinga. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
