The Quebec City Baby Blues defeated the Capital Hill Interns, 7-5. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Gregory Jones, who was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Quebec City reliever Dave Henderson was the winner. His record is now 6-2. Zier Kenselaar took the loss. Getting the save was William Pettersen, his 11th.
Had Jones not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Jones hit a 2-run double. The Baby Blues never looked back after taking the 6-5 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Jones said.
The Baby Blues saw their record improve to 39-32.
