Flint got a terrific performance from pitcher Dennis Henry, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montgomery Biscuits. Montgomery won the Flint Park contest, 5-4. Henry was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Montgomery reliever Nicolas Cernin picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Augusto Jaramillo shouldered the loss. Jude Twitchen converted his 5th save in 7 tries.
Montgomery used the bat of Michael Hawk to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Biscuits ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Hawk.
Montgomery is now 38-26.
