Biscuits Reel Off Another Win
|
The Montgomery Biscuits topped the Canonniers de Quebec, 9-3, with youngster Juan Martínez playing a key role. Martínez went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Biscuits in the win. Qu-bing Li, the winner, improved to 4-3. He held the Canonniers de Quebec to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 10 and walking 4. Brenden Cleverdon sewed up the save, his 4th.
Chad Holland was a prime contributor to the Montgomery win. He went 1-4. In the bottom of the third with two out, the 19-year old shortstop hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Biscuits.
"We take it day by day here," said Martínez, "and today was a good one for us."
The third-place Biscuits now have a 7-game winning streak.
