Riding the 2-hit performance of the 19-year old shortstop Shaun Kingsley, the Valley View Cougars stopped the Flint Crush, 8-2. Juan Ramírez got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Dave Davis earned the save, his 1st.

Kingsley contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Valley View in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Kingsley took a changeup from Roland Sheffield and stroked the home run to left-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Cougars to leap in front, 3-2.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Kingsley said in reaction to the win.

The 'W' lifts Valley View's record to 17-21.
