Shredders Get 5-2 Win Versus New Orleans
|
The Hollywood Shredders got a strong performance from pitcher Tony Alfonso, who stymied the New Orleans offense en route to a 5-2 win at The Hollywood Bowl. Alfonso, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Hwa-pyung Yi picked up the save, his 1st.
Ramón Rodríguez swatted a 3-run home run for Hollywood in the bottom of the second. The left fielder went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Rodríguez. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
With the loss, New Orleans sinks to 0-2.
