Montgomery starter Randy Smith pitched effectively against the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at The Igloo. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. The Biscuits sit in third place in the Silver R with a record of 20-15.
Montgomery used the clutch hitting of Chad Holland to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Biscuits the lead, 3-1. For the game, Holland had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Montgomery skipper António Pineda.
