Cougars Win at Bethlehem, 6-2
|
The Valley View Cougars grabbed a 6-2 win over the Bethlehem Angel Kitties at Kittie Park. Valley View second baseman Gabe Joicey was 3-5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Valley View reliever Alan Gilbert picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Santos was saddled with the loss. With the win, Valley View goes to 12-17, while the Angel Kitties fall to 16-13.
Joicey had a key at-bat for Valley View early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and gave Valley View an early 2-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Valley View manager Tony Newell.
