The Quebec City Baby Blues got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Hyung-gook Chong, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-3 decision over the Moose Jaw Canucks. Chong went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-1. The Baby Blues, now 12-8, have won 5 in a row.
Quebec City used the clutch hitting of Jason Hawkins to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Baby Blues ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Quebec City manager Kyle Myers.
