Snowpeople Cut Down Cougars, 8-4
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople defeated the Valley View Cougars, 8-4, in USSL Rookie action at Hillandale Grounds, with Ellesmere Island pitcher Bennett Stone named player of the game. Al Maxwell closed it out for his 6th save. The Cougars fall to 7-12 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2042 season.
Ellesmere Island needed the clutch hitting of Donald White to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Snowpeople on top, 3-0. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Stone told the Ellesmere Island Citizen.
