Cougars Stymie Flint, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Valley View Cougars picked up a win at Hillandale Grounds, knocking off the Flint Crush, 4-1. Starting pitcher John Robertson was an essential part of his team's success. Robertson got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Robertson allowed no earned runs. Ray Armstrong finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Brian Webb made an early impact for Valley View when he stroked his 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which came with two out in the bottom of the third, put the Cougars on top, 4-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Valley View skipper Tony Newell.
Losses have been few and far between for the Crush, who are now 4-1.
