The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople got a strong performance from pitcher Bennett Stone, who stymied the Quebec City offense en route to a 4-2 win at Dylan Park. The winning pitcher was Stone, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Al Maxwell earned the save, his 2nd, for the Snowpeople.
Ellesmere Island took a 3-1 lead on Clive Edney's 4th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Edney hit in the top of the seventh, left Quebec City pitcher De'Coldest Crawford visibly frustrated.
"We put together a nice win," Stone said.
The Snowpeople raised their record to 3-1.
