Flanderses Curb Tigers, 8-4
|
The Twinsburg Tigers got a sterling performance from pitcher Vicente Zanga, but the Flanderses still prevailed, 8-4. Zanga was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Kyle Conley was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The Flanderses now own a record of 56-40.
Hudsonville used the timely hitting of Ben Yunusov to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Flanderses on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Yunusov.
